CELCAA welcomes the consent of the European Parliament at Plenary vote today 12th February 2020, by a comfortable majority of 401 votes in favor.
The EU agri-food traders now look forward for the ratification by the National Assembly of Vietnam scheduled in May for a swift implementation of the deal.

This deal will provide greater market access for both sides for agricultural products while respecting the sensitivities of both trading partners – through Tariff Rate Quotas. The deal also guarantees a high level of protection for key EU geographical indications. The trade deal will support the competitiveness of EU food operators while leveraging the level playing field with third countries competitors in the ASEAN region.
