EU agri-food chain organisations welcome the positive vote in INTA on the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement

The EU agri-food chain partners – COPA and COGECA, CELCAA and FoodDrinkEurope- welcome yesterday’s positive vote in the INTA Committee on the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement. This vote brings this major agreement one step closer to ratification. Japan is among the strategic export destinations of EU agri-food products, with further potential for growth. The opportunities of the EU-Japan EPA should also be recognised in the broader economic context and considered as an important signal to promote rules-based international trade.
